BIRTH REGISTRATION CORRECTION​

Individuals eligible to apply to correct birth record in the Trumbull County Probate Court must have been born in Ohio.  Further, they must have been born in Trumbull County, presently reside in Trumbull County or the natural mother of the individual must have resided in Trumbull County at the time of the birth. 

 

A birth registration correction is available only if the information on the birth certificate is a true error, and it is not a substitute for other legal remedies such as adoption, paternity actions, or name changes. 

 

The application must be filed by the person seeking to correct their birth record.  If the person is under age eighteen (18), it can be filed by a parent or guardian. 

  

The filing fee for a birth correction is $27.00.

REGISTRATION OF UNRECORDED BIRTH​

Individuals eligible to apply to record a previously unrecorded birth in the Trumbull County Probate Court must have been born in Ohio.  Further, they must have been born in Trumbull County, presently reside in Trumbull County or the natural mother of the individual must have resided in Trumbull County at the time of the birth. 

 

To verify that your Ohio birth is unrecorded, you must obtain a no-record letter from the Ohio Department of Health, Division of Vital Statistics, and file it with the Court. 

 

The application must be filed by the person seeking to register their birth.  If the person is under age eighteen (18), it can be filed by a parent or guardian. 

 

The filing fee for an application for the registration of an unrecorded birth is $22.50.
